Deliveroo launches Deliveroo Deli

  • Deliveroo Deli is a new delivery only offering to help Australia's restaurants, delis, small grocers and speciality food stores sell their products online
  • Deliveroo Deli will launch across Australia's east coast from today with more than 22 restaurant and food businesses onboard
  •  Deliveroo Deli is Australia's first delivery only virtual brand platform for delis, restaurants and other small businesses in the food industry

Melbourne, 11 May 2020: As the ongoing restrictions on restaurants continue, and with more people still at home, Deliveroo today launches its new virtual brand, Deliveroo Deli, to support its Australian restaurant partners as well as smaller grocery and deli businesses during the COVID-19 outbreak.

In a first for Australian consumers, Deliveroo customers can now purchase smallgoods, produce, specialty groceries and ready-to-heat meals delivered to their door from favourite local businesses. This is a significant move to help make sure isolated people at home have access to household essentials.

Deliveroo Deli has been developed as a new offering for smaller groceries, delis and independent food stores to reach consumers during the current restrictions on retail and restaurants, while also offering existing Deliveroo restaurant partners a way to expand their offering through new products. Deliveroo is significantly expanding its selection on offer to consumers stuck at home, including through new restaurants that have turned to delivery to reach consumers.

All Deliveroo Deli partners will have access to Deliveroo's project management, menu optimisation, product photography and marketing support for free. Deliveroo is also removing the onboarding fee and lowering commission rates for Deliveroo Deli partners.  Products will be available to order on Deliveroo, as normal, and delivered straight to people's homes in as little as 30 minutes.

The Deli has everything from dry aged steak and bottles of wine to curry paste or cheese imported and matured by our cheese mongers - and paired expertly with our on site sommeliers."
